Scout Satchel Overview

Safety.

Good for the road.

A Scout* cannot be overlooked. In the daytime and twilight the Scout typical orange-red fluorescent areas shine. And if it is very foggy or dark, a bright white reflecting fluorescent stripe offers maximum safety.

Safety in the daytime.

An orange-red fluorescent material on 20% of the front and side areas shine very visable during the daytime and twilight.

Luminance in the night.

Retro-reflective "fluorescent stripes" on at least 10% of the front and side areas of the satchel as well as retro-reflective stripes on the carrier straps reflect direct light back in the dark already from a big distance.

DIN-conform.

All Scout Basic* satchels have been manufactured according to the strict safety and quality requirements of DIN 58124: - 20% of the front and side areas are fluorescent and 10% retro-reflective.

The recommendation.

Stiftung Warentest advises to pay attention to safety with purchase of a satchel – and writes in issue 4/2009: „When it comes up to the well-being of the weakest in traffic then safety comes first. Only purchase a satchel which complies the satchel norm.“ – A good reason for Scout Basic satchels*: They have been manufactured after strict safety and quality requirements of DIN 58124.

* The satchels of the Style collection do not fulfill the safety guidelines of DIN 58124 regarding fluorescence and retro-reflection.

** In comparison to the tested Scout Mega in the course of improvement of the optical warn effect of the current Scout Mega model, separated fluorescent and retro-reflective material according to DIN 58124 has been used. The warn effect improved design was not a subject matter of the test.
